Alert – A parent left her purse in her locked car while picking up her student. She only was out of her car for 15 minutes, but when she came back, the window had been punched out and her purse was taken. Fortunately a SR police officer was nearby and it was quickly reported. Please be cautious and don’t leave your purse or other valuables in your car.

Halloween Parade will be at 10:00 – The parade will start by the flag pole and will proceed up Blue Fox Way, turn right on Davona Drive, right on May Way, and turn into the park entrance at the back of the school.

Halloween Costumes – Please remember that Halloween costumes must be appropriate for the elementary school setting. No weapons or pretend weapons are ever allowed on school grounds. Dress code still applies. Remember we have kindergarteners, so we discourage costumes that are too scary or gory. Please use your best judgment and call the office if you have questions.

Introducing Mrs. Donna Yokomizo – When the Biondi’s baby girl is born, Mrs. Yokomizo, a retired principal from Hidden Hills School, will be here to substitute while Mr. Biondi takes a short family leave. Baby Biondi is due November 3, but could be here any day now.

Thanks for a Great Carnival – A big thank you to the awesome committee and to all the volunteers who worked so hard to make our annual school carnival a huge success. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the games, entertainment and food. Thanks for keeping this wonderful tradition alive.

Health Update - Now that the wet weather and flu season are upon us, we wanted to send this reminder about necessary health precautions for Country Club families.  So far student absences are low and we are seeing a 97+% attendance rate which means fewer students than usual have been absent.

If your child is displaying flu-like symptoms (including a fever greater than 100°F), keep him/her home while they FULLY recover.  If students have a fever greater than 99.4°F on campus, that student will be sent home.  Please keep students home for an additional 24 hours after the fever has broken.  Again, students SHOULD NOT return to school unless they are fever-free for 24 hours without taking any fever-reducing medication.

Please Follow These Prevention Tips:
* Wash Your Hands The Right Way- Washing your hands is simple and it's the best way to prevent infection and illness.
* When washing hands with soap and water
Wet your hands with clean running water and apply soap. Use warm water if
            it is available.
Rub hands together to make a lather and scrub all surfaces.
Continue rubbing hands for 15-20 seconds.
Rinse hands well under running water.
Dry your hands using a paper towel or air dryer.
If possible, use your paper towel to turn off the faucet.
Always use soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.
* If soap and clean water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub to clean your hands. Alcohol-based hand rubs significantly reduce the number of germs on skin and are fast-acting.

With this flu season threatening to be the worst in recent memory, please monitor all symptoms and make informed decisions in regards to your child’s health, while keeping in mind their impact on other students and their families.  We want your child at school, but not to the detriment of their health or the health of other students. The current district practice regarding H1N1 is based on the latest information from the Center for Disease Control.  For more information on H1N1 you can go to their website at www.cdc.gov.

Thank you for your understanding and your help.  We will keep families informed on health concerns this year.

You may  call our school office after the 3rd day of absence to collect work for your student to keep them updated on academic responsibilities. Students will not be penalized in any way for missing school due to illness.
